Developing the papers presented at the workshops into journal articles

Dear SWINDON/EXCEED colleagues

Many papers have been presented in the workshops held within the second stage of the EXCEED project.  I think that many of these papers can be developed 
to journal papers.  I would like to suggest that partners of similar interest can work gather in groups to develop and publish several papers collectively.   Each member should lead in one paper and contribute to the other papers by reviewing and giving comments for example.  

I am currently working on developing a full paper from the paper I presented in Tunis titled 

CHALLENGES TO THE WATER SECTOR IN THE MENA REGION.  

At a later stage I will be working to develop a full paper from the abstract I presented in the Nairoubi conference, titled

Climate change impact on water resources in Amman Zarqa basin: Adaptation scenarios

I am interested to team up with colleagues in topic like

Basin modeling
Water and wastewater treatment 
Water quality modeling

As I mentioned before, the ultimate purpose is that each group produce several journal papers from those presented at the workshops.

Dear Dr. Abuhashim

Thank you for responding.  I have already proposed two titles for two manuscripts.  One was presented in Tunis workshop and the other was presented in the conference.  I expect to have the first the draft of the first one which is about the challenges to the water sector in the MENA by end of April.  I expect to start allocating time to the second one by next fall.  I have already proposed some topics that I am interested to join who ever is also interested.  For example, several papers on basin modeling were presented which I think can be developed to full papers.  I also suggested  other topics that are of interest to me where I can also make good contribution.

Dear all

Thanks to all  for your positive and encouraging responses.  The idea is that we can group ourselves in teams based on our interests.  Each team can be four or five people.  Each team will then work on four or five publications where each team member leads in one of these publications.  We already have enough number of workshop publications which can be developed into full journal publications.  If you agree, I can start looking at the workshop publications in order to identify the groups based on these publications.  The groups I will identify are of course tentative and subject to modification based on your comments and suggestions.  As prof. Topkaya suggested, we should use the EXCEED forum.  So, I will post this e-mail on the EXCEED forum and continue from there.
